Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Administration, the Director of Information Technology provides leadership for all aspects of IT service delivery for Sampling Technologies Inc. The IT Director establishes an IT vision that aligns tightly with corporate business objectives, leads strategic and tactical IT planning, and coordinates the efficient delivery of information technology services.
Key Responsibilities
- To ensure the day-to-day reliable delivery of IT.
- To provide leadership and guidance to IT staff and to be accountable for their career development.
- To develop and maintain an overall information technology strategy that meets STI’s evolving business needs
- Ensures that IT has the organizational capacity to meet STI’s current and forecasted needs.
- Provides IT direction and advice to the management team.
- Directs the preparation and implementation of IT policies, procedures and standards
- Manages the relationship with external service provides ensuring service level agreements are in place, monitored and services are provided at the lowest cost.
- Provides overall management to ensure IT projects meet requirements and are completed within time and budget.
- To research and keep abreast of emerging technologies.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A history of successfully delivering applications/technology deployment projects within time and budget constraints.
- Experience with strategic and operational planning.
- Broad knowledge and experience with application development methodologies
- Strong understanding of all significant components of an overall IT architecture (infrastructure, applications, data management)
- Proven ability to develop and implement IT policies and procedures
- Experience in a both startup business environments and more mature organizations.
- Experience in both strategic and tactical leadership and in managing the daily direction to the organization
- An end-goal approach to strategic and operational planning with a clear understanding of the role of IT in servicing the goals of the business
- Excellent skills and abilities to coach, develop and motivate a team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- High standards of accountability
- Results oriented, customer focused attitude towards IT service delivery
- A degree in computer science and business or the equivalent work experience and training with a minimum of 10 years information technology experience with five years experience in a leadership capacity.
